Golden Globes, USA: Nominee: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture—Comedy or Musical, Reese Witherspoon
Memorable Quote: Tracy Flick: “I can't wait to start campaigning.”
Jim McAllister: “Ah, well, it should be easy for you, so far no competition.”
Tracy Flick: “Yeah, but you know, Coca-Cola is by far the world's number one soft drink and they spend more money than anybody on advertising. I guess that's how come they stay number one.”
Fun Trivia: In the text of a newspaper article in the film: “If you've paused the film in order to read this entire article, your time would be better spent renting Citizen Ruth (1996) from your local video store. Do you know how hard it is to write these fake few stories for newspaper movie props? I've got better things to do.”
