Children’s Stories by Faith Ringgold
July 15–September 2, 1995
Faith Ringgold, internationally recognized artist and UCSD Professor of Art, presented her first San Diego one-person exhibition, which featured the first West Coast showing of 32 original paintings. The works were created for two of her acclaimed books for children, Aunt Harriet’s Underground Railroad in the Sky (1992) and Dinner at Aunt connie’s House (1993). Her original story quilt, Tar Beach II, which inspired her first published children’s book, was also shown.
