Three of San Diego’s most well-respected artists, as well as long-term residents, present recent work. Richard Allan Morris exhibits new black and white abstract drawings. Born in Long Beach in 1933, Morris has exhibited his work at MCASD, Quint Gallery, and is represented by R.B. Stevenson Gallery, La Jolla. Allan Morrow, originally from Spokane, WA, moved to San Diego in 1953. He was recruited by the Art Center College of Design yet in 1970 was drafted to serve in the US Army in Viet Nam. He graduated with a BA in painting and printmaking from San Diego State University. The paintings in this exhibition are from the Baja series that began in 1975 and are inspired by the deserts of the southwest and fishing trips in Baja California, Mexico. Tom Driscoll, as San Diego native, presents his most recent sculptures from his “Knot Series.” Driscoll’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Quint Gallery, La Jolla and Ice Gallery, San Diego. This exhibition is funded in part by grants from the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and the County of San Diego.
