New mural envisions a ‘jungle’ in The Village

“The Deep, Impenetrable and Mysterious Jungle,” by Swiss artist Claudia Comte, installed June 7 by Murals of La Jolla, is part of Comte’s larger series “Jungle Paintings,” originally painted in acrylic on canvas.
The mural references the visual iconography of the Belgian comic artist André Franquin; Comte has stripped excess content from Franquin’s original comics to leave only the linear depiction of a nature scene, according to press materials.
