The Athenaeum Art Center is hosting an exhibition of all works on paper—drawings and books—by three artists, Carolina Betancourt, Sage Serrano, and Karla Del Rio. The works in this exhibition offer allegorical and conceptual interpretations of imagery on paper, highlighting the craft, the poetics, and the versatility of drawing as a medium. The work emphasizes visual encounters between local artists and cross-border creators through paper.

The show opens with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 during the Barrio Art Crawl.

The exhibition can be viewed in the AAC Gallery at the Athenaeum Art Center (1955 Julian Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113) during open hours, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and every second Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., during the Barrio Art Crawl, and by appointment.
