San Diego Design Week | LA JOLLA: Art Activity Day for Children and Families

The Athenaeum will host an art activity day for elementary school students and their families inspired by Faiya Fredman’s works and lifelong interests in childhood art education at the museum level and her philanthropy in that area. Join us on the patio and in the galleries for crafts, including creating hand puppets from found objects, drawing masks, making a lenticular drawing, self-guided scavenger hunts, and more. This is a free event.

San Diego Design Week | LOGAN HEIGHTS: Open House at the AAC

11 AM–4 PM

The AAC opens its doors for special daytime activities. In the Print Studio, Sibyl Rubottom will give demonstrations of our various presses and conduct workshops making small books and prints. In the Art Studio, Judi Tentor will guide participants through the hand paper–making process using recycled materials and plant fibers embedded with seeds. The resulting seed paper will be both “plantable” and printable. This is a free event.
