San Diego-based artist David Newcomb presented a series of acrylics on paper. The works were inspired by performances he observed at the Albi Jazz Festival during a yearlong sabbatical in Albi, France, from 1993 through 1994. Also on display were drawings and paintings from performances at the Athenaeum’s 1995 summer concert series, Jazz San Diego: Past and Present.
