TWO GENERATIONS
January 10–February 14, 2004
This exhibition explored the question “How, if at all, has a parent’s artwork and creative process impacted the work of a child as a mature artist? Is it nature or nurture?” by looking at work of established artists connected yet separated by one generation. Parents/progeny in the show were: Ed Ruscha and his son Eddie Ruscha; Terry Allen, his wife Jo Harvey, and sons Bale and Bukka; Manny Farber and his daughter, Amanda; Ed Moses and son Andy; Italo Scanga and son Bill; Lee Mullican, his widow Lucita Hertado, and son Matt Mullican; and Tony Smith and daughter Kiki Smith.
