TEDDY CRUZ AND TIJUANA WORKSHOP
Border Postcards
November 19–December 31, 2005
In this exhibition, Cruz and the Tijuana Workshop presented a series of photo-constructions that explored the ethos of the border territory of San Diego and Tijuana. The artist and participants from all over Latin America stitched the photo-constructions with photographic fragments from pieces of infrastructure, residual landscapes and vacant spaces, from Los Angeles, San Diego, and Tijuana. The images become relational landscapes, serving as conceptual framework to discuss the changing boundaries of the contemporary city and the trans-border urbanisms that define the San Diego-Tijuana region.
