KENDRA ESKAU: The Lint Project
Rotunda Gallery
KENDRA ESKAU
The Lint Project
November 11–December 30, 2006
San Diego-based artist Kendra Eskau presented work in the Rotunda Gallery. In 2002, she was inspired to begin collecting the more interesting pieces of lint that collected in the trap of her GE dryer. “I believe,” says the artist, “that the discards of our daily lives, if looked at in some kind of formal way, can generate a new appreciation for the art that exists everywhere.” Colored pieces of lint are arranged formally and with thought and placed in 8x10” panels under Plexiglas in this body of work.
