The Athenaeum presented old and new work by Jay Johnson. He constructed a large plywood box in the Main Gallery and put new artwork, old artwork, personal artifacts and various ephemera inside. This was beyond cool; Robert Pincus named it one of 2008’s best shows in the San Diego Union-Tribune and Leah Ollman wrote a review of it for Art in America.
