Genie Shenk: Master of Book Arts

The Athenaeum paid tribute to deceased book artist Genie Shenk with an exhibition of her artist’s books. Genie was born in Montgomery, Alabama, attended Rice University, and received an MFA in 1990 from UCLA. She has taught book arts in San Diego for many years, both at Mesa College and at the Athenaeum School of the Arts. She is a founding member of San Diego Book Arts. Her books have been publicized frequently and shown widely in the United states and abroad.
