Leslie Gamboa grew up in La Jolla. After attending local public schools and graduating from San Diego State University (SDSU), she taught at Marston Middle School in Clairemont until 2016. Since then, she has been teaching painting to adults and children and traveling between Indiana and La Jolla. Presently, she is teaching art at Longfellow Elementary in Clairemont and at a women’s retreat through La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Read MoreChristian Garcia-Olivo received his BA in studio arts from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2015. His work explores acrylic paint as a sculptural medium. He uses craft techniques, such as weaving and collage, as a way to examine and challenge contemporary issues, bringing attention to the hierarchy of art media and the ongoing subordination of craft. His passion for art has led him to teach a wide variety of ages from 5 to 45 in Santa Barbara and San Diego.

Additionally, she taught copyediting at both UCSD and UCLA Extension for several years. Her love of storytelling led to the creation of Book Publishing 1-2-3, which she’s presented throughout California to help writers learn how to launch their work into the world.

She helped design the Art and the Creative Process Certificate Program at UCSD Extension, where she acts as an advisor and faculty member. She has taught at the Athenaeum School of the Arts for more than 20 years.

Fortunately, most of the critics have been kinder since then, and she kept right on painting. Watercolor is her chosen medium. She has had more than 50 solo exhibitions, including at the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose, California, and the National Museum of History in Taipei, Taiwan. Horne’s paintings focus on a personal response to landscape and have been extensively exhibited throughout the United States and abroad. Horne has been awarded several grants and residency programs, including the William Male Foundation, Heinrich Boll in Co. Mayo, Ireland, Fundacion Valparaiso in Almeria, Spain, and the Montana Artist Refuge in Basin Montana. Horne is an adjunct professor of fine arts and art history at San Diego City College and Southwestern College.

He attended the Universitat de Valencia, Spain, graduated from the University of Virginia, and earned an MFA in oil painting from Radford University. Inman formerly worked in IT. During graduate school, he transitioned from large abstract canvases to an approach informed by the Bay Area Figurative School and the Spanish Baroque. He has traveled extensively around Spain and Italy studying painting, especially the Venetian school. The recipient of numerous awards for plein air painting, Inman has been a professional artist for 10 years.

Pat received a BA in visual art from UCSD and currently maintains a studio in Ramona. She teaches painting classes and workshops at the Athenaeum and The Art Center in Ramona and is represented by Santa Ysabel Art Gallery.

She teaches for art retreats and workshops in Southern California, specializing in life drawing, portrait, and still-life drawing classes for adults and teens. Her extensive ceramic studies include advanced techniques in glazing, glaze formulation, and kiln firing. She is currently studying porcelain and china painting with internationally recognized artist Nancy Benedetti. Having studied figurative sculpture for many years with SDSU professor Jess Dominguez, she has extensive experience in foundry work, casting and pouring bronze and aluminum.

In 2005 Chris entered the field of fine art printmaking and limited edition publishing at a Los Angeles based print publisher. Recognizing a desire to return to his hometown of San Diego, Chris established the East County Printshop in 2015. The East County Printshop is a San Diego area printmaking studio that collaborates with artists to create original fine art prints in various printmaking techniques, and currently concentrates on screen printing.
