Harry Sternberg has achieved a national reputation as a painter, graphic artist, author, filmmaker, and teacher. He has won numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has taught at the Art Students League, New School for Social Research, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, The University of Southern California, San Diego State University, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. This exhibition consisted of numerous self-portraits (introspection), as well as works reflecting the outside world (retrospection).
