Graffiti Workshop with HEM Crew

Join professional artists Nestor “Spel” Mondragon and Israel “Shente” Elizondo in an exciting graffiti workshop on Saturday, August 13, at the Athenaeum Art Center in Logan Heights. In this five-hour-long class, using stencils made under the guidance of the artists, students will learn to make art as “sprayers.” Stencil graffiti is a form of street art used by the HEM Crew and other artists, such as Banksy and Shepard Fairey. After mastering the art of stenciling, including aerosol techniques, students will create a collective class mural as a final, collaborative piece.
