The Athenaeum presented thirty-two recent digitally altered photographs and installations by Doris Bittar. The subject of these works was coffee, and more specifically the Arabic tradition of drinking coffee and then “reading” the grounds left in cups. The opening reception included a poetry reading and Lebanese dancers. During the exhibition several coffee cup readings were held in the Main Gallery, with Martha Fardijan and Doris Bittar leading the discussion and cup readings.
